No one will ever accuse Bo Mattingly of preparing intelligent questions for guests of his radio show, but Arkansas fans have to love the response to one of his sillier questions to new Hog Offensive Coordinator Jim Chaney….and Tennessee?  Not so much.

If you are still looking to secure tickets for Arkansas’ game against Alabama on Sept. 15, be prepared to open your wallet.

Reserved tickets for the game are sold out, according to the UA, though a limited number of club- and suite-level season ticket packages remain for games at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

If you are looking for just single-game tickets, they are available through popular ticket exchange websites, including 1,678 for sale on They are expensive, though.

Tickets for upper-level seats at the game begin at $154 each on StubHub, while lower-level seats are listed for as much as $1,199 per ticket.

General admission tickets for conference games in Fayetteville have a $55 face value.

The game is one of the most anticipated of the college football season. Kirk Herbstreit of ESPN said last week he anticipates the popular pregame show “College Gameday” to be in Fayetteville for the game, while CBS has announced the contest as its featured SEC game of the week.

Arkansas and Alabama finished last season in the top 5 of the national rankings and both are expected to be highly ranked again when preseason polls are released next month.

The Crimson Tide, winners of two of the last three BCS national championships, have always been a popular draw at Arkansas, but have been more so in recent years. During the Razorbacks’ game against Alabama two years ago, a record 76,808 fans were in attendance.

That game drew a 5.4 TV rating and 13 share in metered U.S. markets, indicating a strong draw outside of the two states.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

With both Alabama and LSU on the schedule for on-campus games this season, season tickets to Fayetteville games have sold at a record rate. Though official numbers are unknown, the UA has announced it eclipsed its record for season ticket shares previously set in 2008.

This season will mark the first time Arkansas has ever faced both Alabama and LSU on-campus during the same season. Single tickets to the LSU game on Nov. 23 are also sold out, according to the UA.

the one and only

That’s right readers, across the entirety of this nation there is only a single university that ranked in the top 25 for attendance in football, baseball and men’s basketball.  The University of Arkansas Razorbacks, and their devoted fans.  Nice job, and congrats to all – and here’s a WOOOO PIG!

The Razorbacks were 2nd in baseball (averaging 7,924 fans), No. 22 in football (averaging 66,900 fans) and 23rd in basketball (averaging 13,096).

21-5 the last two years and 34-17 overall with Liberty, Cotton and Sugar bowl appearances and the shining promise of a great season approaching simply were not enough to overcome off-the-field misdeeds, and the attempts to cover them up.
